Georgie Smith

ABOUT

Georgie is a registered psychologist and clinical registrar with interest in supporting adults and young people (16+) experiencing difficulties including, but not limited to:

  • Mood and anxiety disorders
  • Trauma including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, complex trauma and dissociation
  • Personality difficulties including Borderline Personality Disorder/traits
  • Emotional dysregulation
  • Interpersonal/social difficulties 
  • Substance use and addictions
  • Adjustment difficulties

Georgie also has a particular interest in working with veterans and first responders.

Georgie has worked across a range of mental health settings including public, private, inpatient and outpatient services, as well as provided both individual and group therapy. Georgie values the importance of building rapport and trust with clients, while using evidence-based therapies that are individually tailored. Her approach can be described as trauma-informed, warm, relatable, non-judgmental, open, and sometimes humorous. In her spare time Georgie is an avid rock-climber and also enjoys delicious food, card games, and being outdoors.

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (TF-CBT)
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) 
  • Prolonged Exposure (PE)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
