"Telehealth" refers to when health services are provided via communication using both an audio and visual connection. Cova Psychology offers telehealth to provide psychological assessment and treatment to clients as an alternative to attending the clinic for face-to-face treatment. This opens up therapy at Cova Psychology to people located anywhere in Australia.
In light of the COVID19 situation, from March 30, 2020 Medicare will provide rebates on telehealth psychology sessions for all Australians. Whereas previously, Medicare rebates for telehealth were available only to those living in rural and regional areas, at present, Medicare rebates for telehealth apply irrespective of where you are living. Rebates on up to 10 telehealth psychology sessions can be claimed per calendar year.
Please contact us today to discuss setting up therapy through telehealth on 9654 3557.
Telehealth for People living in Rural and Regional Areas
If you live in a rural area, access to psychological services may be limited, or you may be concerned about your privacy and wish to receive psychological treatment outside your community. Cova Psychology can assist by providing access to psychological assessment and treatment remotely via telehealth.
Medicare rebates for Telehealth
Telehealth sessions are not bulk billed, though Medicare can offset the cost of sessions significantly. To access rebates through Medicare you must have an eligible mental health condition and referral from a GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician. Cova Psychology reception will discuss fees and Medicare rebates with you before your first appointment. For further information call us on 9654 3557.
