Dr Chris Coleiro is a clinical psychologist in Melbourne
who has experience in treating a wide range of mental health issues including:

  • Mood disorders (depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorders, bipolar)
  • Issues related to trauma (post-traumatic stress and dissociation)
  • Personality issues including treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder
  • Emotional dysregulation and sensitivity
  • Identity issues and difficulty adjusting to or managing challenging life circumstances
  • Issues of sexuality and gender diversity
  • Issues related to body image and disordered eating

Prior to going into private practice, Chris worked for over 10 years in the public and private mental health sectors, where he predominantly treated the impact of psychological trauma. His passion for work in this area led to his involvement in setting up a number of private outpatient programs for the treatment of post-traumatic stress. These programs provided treatment for both childhood and adult psychological trauma, as well as treatment for psychological trauma experienced by emergency services workers.

Chris is a co-director of Cova Psychology, and in addition to treating clients, he also provides supervision to psychologists and psychologist registrars. He has worked as a senior psychologist and team leader in both the public and private settings. Chris enjoys supporting psychologists with their clinical skills, as well as providing mentoring in relation to leadership skills. Chris is passionate about cultivating a supportive and friendly team environment at Cova Psychology.
