“I am deeply interested in you, and how you see, feel and act in the world. If you’re looking to make change, or to better understand yourself, and your relationships, then let’s take action together. Before, and after-hours appointments are also available. Approach is bespoke to you, and informed by CBT, ACT, Schema, DBT and EMDR.”

I am a senior clinical psychologist with experience in treating a wide range of mental health conditions including:

  • Mood and anxiety disorders (depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorders, bipolar)
  • Trauma (post-traumatic stress and complex trauma)
  • Personality issues including treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder
  • Emotional dysregulation and sensitivity
  • Relationships challenges
  • Adjustment difficulties
  • Concern regarding sexuality and gender diversity
  • Challenges associated with body image and disordered eating

I became a clinical psychologist because I am deeply interested in how people see, feel and behave in the world. I enjoy helping people better understand themselves and others, and to become more engaged with, and resilient to, life’s challenges. I also offer after-hours (and before-hours) appointments.

I’ve worked in a range of mental health and community settings, including public and private hospital systems, and sports organisations. These experiences have helped me to quickly determine and deliver effective and tailored psychological treatment to those in need.

In my spare time, I like to cook up a storm, read crime fiction (Harry Bosch or Jack Reacher) or go on a bush walk.

THERAPEUTIC APPROACHES

A “therapeutic approach” is a helpful scientific-evidence based and flexible structure with which to view the world and guide therapy sessions. Often when people come to see a psychologist, they may be feeling overwhelmed or feel that areas of their life are in chaos. The therapeutic approach helps people start to make sense of that chaos, and move forward. Each person is different and unique, and as such, together we will tailor the therapeutic approach to you. I have expertise in the following approaches:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy – Enhanced (CBT-E) & Trauma-focussed Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
  • Motivational Interviewing (MI)
  • Schema Therapy
  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Gottman Method for Couples Therapy
